In a major step toward sustainable manufacturing, Tata Motors has joined forces with Welspun Renewable Energy to launch an 86 MW wind-solar hybrid project. This strategic collaboration will supply uninterrupted clean power to Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle manufacturing hubs across four states: Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Karnataka.
By capturing solar energy by day and wind power by night, the hybrid system ensures a steady, reliable stream of green electricity. The initiative is set to generate 200 million units of clean power and slash annual $CO_2$ emissions by more than 1.4 lakh tonnes. This project brings Tata Motors one step closer to its ambitious RE100 goal—running on 100% renewable energy by 2030—while actively fueling India’s journey toward a cleaner tomorrow.
